Joe and Loyola O’Brien, Founders

Our Story

Both brothers were experienced fishermen and could see a decline in the fishing industry. They decided a change in careers was necessary and the rest, as they say, is history. When the business first began, the company used a signal boat to carry 25 customers to the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, Iceberg and Whale Watching. Now, the company has four vessels, with a capacity to carry 170 passengers, a restaurant, gift shop, and an event centre. The O’Brien’s continue to be tourism ambassadors for Newfoundland and Labrador. They are very proud to offer high-quality tours that are educational and entertaining.
