Become an Honorary Newfoundlander!
Looking to add a little extra fun and tradition to your boat tour experience? Join us for an unforgettable Screech-In Ceremony—a time-honoured Newfoundland tradition full of laughter, local charm, and a touch of rum (or not, if you prefer)!
What’s a Screech-In?
A Screech-In is a fun and lighthearted Newfoundland tradition that welcomes visitors as honorary locals. Led by our friendly and entertaining crew, you’ll take part in some playful island customs, learn a bit of local lingo, give a puffin a friendly smooch (don’t worry—we’ve traded the cod for something cuter!), and enjoy a shot of traditional Newfoundland Screech rum (or a non-alcoholic version if you choose).
What’s Included:
-
A traditional sou’wester hat to wear during the ceremony
-
A personalized certificate declaring you an Honorary Newfoundlander
-
A shot of Screech rum (or a non-alcoholic alternative)
-
Plenty of laughs and memorable moments on board!
Pricing:
-
$30 with alcohol
-
$20 without alcohol
When:
The ceremony takes place on the way back in the harbour, so you won’t miss a minute of the sightseeing fun.
Come for the wildlife—leave a Newfoundlander!
Note: The Screech-In Ceremony is an optional add-on and can be booked once you get on board.
